Histórias Extraordinárias de Edgar Allan Poe

This one I did back when I was in Design College, for a project of Editorial Design. I was planning to use this illustration as the cover art for the redesign of the book "Histórias Extraordinárias de Edgar Allan Poe", which was the main project that I was working on at the College back then.

Sadly I wasn't able to finish this artwork in time for the project, so instead I used the illustrations of Gustave Doré, who is one of my favorites artists, to feature the cover of the book.

Nonetheless, as you can see in this video, I could finally complete the illustration, but I only finished it 2 months later after I graduated in that discipline haha

I'm really proud of how this illustration turned out. I especially liked to work on the overall composition and on the shading of the piece. And you, what are your thoughts? haha

Besides, have you ever read any of Edgar Allan Poe's works? No? So what are you waiting to check him out? Haha In my opinion, he is one of the best authors in the thriller/terror genre that ever exist, alongside H. P. Lovecraft of course.
